The natural bamboo finish is the “carbon fiber” of woods as Jeff Dorgay puts it in his review of the Vanguard speakers. The satin finish on the bamboo is smooth and clean. The joinery and corners, flawless. It is a true masterpiece in simplicity and elegant design with the essence of bamboo bringing not only a visual appeal, but the hardness and stiffness provides a cabinet that is highly resistant to resonances. Coupled with the mass-loaded foil-covered butyl interior vibration dampening sheets along with open cell foam applied to all walls, makes for a superb sounding speaker cabinet.
