The new EP4.7 is the baby brother to our top of the line EP2.7.  It is the EP2.7 with one instead of two 15″ open baffle woofers.  Efficiency is 2 lower at 95 dB versus the 97 dB of its larger brother. In addition bass is flat to 28Hz versus the 20Hz of the 2.7.  With its new Emerald Physics-designed 12″ point source [I removed “professional”] driver system, the EP4.7 is a true 3-way, bi-amplified, dipole, controlled directivity speaker.

Cutting edge sonic performance establishes a new level of realism and dimensionality not available elsewhere at anywhere near its Internet Direct cost of only $6995.00 a pair.  This new EP4.7 model does not share a single part from the original CS2 series products.  It has new outboard Special Edition crossovers, upgraded Emerald Physics DSP, custom Emerald Physics drivers, upgraded baffle, gold plated copper connectors and the much improved cosmetics of the EP2.7, in a smaller, more room-friendly size.  Our new tweeter uses a Polyester diaphragm that offers much improved speed, detail and overall weight.

The innovation continues in the Bass range with our unique Aperture Bass Propagation Technology.  This proprietary system is used for the custom Emerald Physics 15″ dipole woofer, and increases low frequency power and linearity, while improving on the speed and articulation of the original CS2.7.   The new Emerald Physics-designed 15″ woofer moves 80% more air than the original CS2.3 and CS2.7 woofers, so a single 15” provides almost as much bass as the dual 15”s of the older models.

DSP equalization and active crossover functions are provided by the included Emerald Physics DSP2.4 Digital Processor; the included $600.00 upgraded passive Special Edition crossover uses custom Emerald Physics capacitors as well as many other upgraded parts and internal silver-coated OCC wire.
