The Helikon power amplifiers are highly advanced floating bridge-mode monoblocks. Each speaker is driven by two entirely identical power amp section, working in exactly opposite phase. The incoming music signal is mirrored to drive these blocks, and with this operation the DC component also receives opposite signs, and it is effectively cancelled out. In this regard the result is similar to Transcap amplifiers, where only the AC signal passes through, recreating only the changes in airwaves, and not trying to set a base level. The system does not transfer zero frequency signals, therefore, it is not a direct-coupled solution.
Unlike with Transcap amplifiers, there is no ground reference here for the speakers. It is not needed. With this technology both poles of the spekare are driven actively, in opposite phase. When the positive side amplifier is pumping energy to the speaker, the negative side amp pulls the same amount from it. The energy and the transients of the signal can be controlled at both sides of the speaker at the same time, which gives us the opportunity to tune the system to our liking, and offer the speaker the exact type and amount of energy it needs.
