Heed
Thesis Phi is a no-compromise phono preamplifier for all vinyl connoisseurs. It is a minimalist, even purist bastion of the turntable system – from the outside. Heed made great efforts to ensure that the processing of the incredibly small incoming signal was as magnificent as possible.
This phono stage has actually two independent dual-mono amplifiers inside. The Phi includes all the circuits for both the MC and MM amplifications, entirely separated, and these sides can work simultaneously. For the MC side, there are various load and gain setting options, adjustable externally.
Every subsection has its independent power regulation, tuned to its own needs. The PCB and the components operate in a balanced space of electromagnetic fields. With extreme attention to these the Phi has extremely low noise floor, matching even some opamp phono preamplifers. But the similarities end here.
The sound characteristics seem shockingly fresh for a turntable source. The presentation is so clean and effortless it could be mistaken to a CD – for a moment. When the first highly dynamic tacts arrive in the music, there will be no questions left; it is pure ANALOG POWER.
